Asia Street Eats is an online travel agency (OTA) specializing in authentic food tours across Asia. We connect travelers with selected local tour operators who share our passion for real, regional food culture. In addition, we also operate some original tours designed and managed directly by our team.
You can browse available food tours directly on our website and complete your booking online using our secure checkout system. Once payment is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with your booking details and the vendor’s contact information. For any special requests, or if you’d like to arrange a private or group booking, simply reach out through our contact form or email info@asiastreeteats.com.
Most of the tours on our platform are operated by independent local vendors who live and breathe their city’s food culture. We carefully vet all our partners for quality, authenticity, and safety. When you book a third-party experience, the vendor is responsible for running the tour, while we handle the booking, payment, and customer support. Tours marked “ASE Original” are managed directly by our in-house team.
On the contrary of OTA giants (like GetYourGuide or Viator), where anybody can list a tour even without experience and appear higher in search results just by raising commissions, we work on a smaller scale and personally test every single vendor before proposing a collaboration. By keeping our commissions lower than the industry average, we attract and select only the best partners; professionals proud to deliver quality over quantity.
It depends on the experience. Some tours are small-group experiences (usually 6–8 guests), while others can also be booked privately for a more personalized outing. Each tour page clearly states whether it’s private, small group, or private-only. If in doubt, just ask, and we’ll confirm availability and options.
Depending on the tour, our minimum group numbers are usually 2 guests. In the unlikely event that the tour doesn’t reach the required number, we will contact you to either move your booking to another date or offer a full refund, whichever suits you best. Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled start time receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours, or no-shows, are non-refundable. If a vendor or Asia Street Eats cancels a tour due to weather, safety, or unforeseen circumstances, you’ll be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule. We are not responsible for additional expenses such as transportation or accommodation that may result from such cancellations.
Please let us know in advance about any allergies, intolerances, or dietary restrictions when booking. We and our partners will always try to accommodate you where possible. You’ll find some basic information about dietary compatibility on each tour’s page, but given the nature of street food, it’s important to understand that cross-contamination cannot be 100% avoided and traces of various ingredients may appear in dishes. In certain cases, you may be asked to sign a waiver, and we strongly recommend bringing any medication you may require if you have serious allergies. By joining, you acknowledge and accept that we cannot guarantee allergen-free food, and you participate at your own discretion.
Each tour description lists exactly what’s included, but typically all food tastings are included. That means no surprise add-ons or hidden fees. Drinks, transportation between stops, or additional items may or may not be covered depending on the specific experience. We make sure every tour page is transparent so you know exactly what’s included before booking.
Payments are handled through secure, industry-standard systems such as Stripe or Square. All transactions are encrypted and processed in Japanese Yen (JPY), although prices may be displayed in USD for convenience. We never store your credit card information, and our payment partners comply with PCI-DSS security standards used by major global banks. Your information and payments are always safe with us.
We strongly recommend having travel insurance that covers medical expenses, trip cancellations, and loss of personal items. Insurance is not included in the tour price, and while we do everything possible to ensure a smooth experience, we cannot take responsibility for unexpected events beyond our control.
In most cases, our tours can accommodate travelers with disabilities, and we will always do our best to ensure accessibility whenever possible. However, because many food tours take place in traditional markets, narrow streets, or older neighborhoods, some routes may present challenges. Before booking, please contact us at info@asiastreeteats.com to confirm whether a specific tour is suitable for your needs.
Most of our tours welcome families and children. The child pricing and age limits vary depending on the tour. Some experiences, especially those that involve alcohol tastings, are suitable for adults only. Each tour page specifies whether children are allowed and under what conditions. If you’re unsure, just email us at info@asiastreeteats.com, and we’ll be happy to advise.
We suggest arriving at the meeting point early. To respect the other guests, guides generally wait up to 10 minutes for late arrivals before starting. If you are running late, please contact your guide directly using the contacts provided in your confirmation email to arrange a meeting point later in the tour. Refunds cannot be provided for missed tours due to lateness.
If you’d like to change your tour date, please email us at info@asiastreeteats.com, and we’ll do our best to help. Date changes depend on availability and must be requested outside of the cancellation period for your tour (48 hours before the scheduled start time).
If something unexpected happens, please contact the local vendor first, as they can usually resolve most issues on the spot. Their contact details are in your confirmation email.
